Basement Slab

On this last Thursday the basement slab was poured, a total of 38 cubic yards of concrete. It looks great! After everything was finished, Felipe made some cuts in the concrete, so when it cracks (as concrete does) it will hopefully crack on the cut seams. We had some problems with our first electrician. We felt that he was trying to take advantage of us, so we found another contractor who seems very professional. We’re glad we were able to straighten this out now, rather than in the middle of electrical installation! On Friday we made our final list of all the windows and exterior doors, totaling 40 windows and 4 doors. We’ll be ordering our lumber package on Monday which we’re hoping will arrive on Wednesday night, the TGI floor system will be delivered Tuesday night, and framing should start Wednesday morning.
